Business Development

Here you can track the Referrers and Competitors for a Matter. From the Matter menu drop down, click on Players and Parties. Click on the Business Development tab. Two sections are available on this screen:

• Referrals
• Competitors

The Referral section will list all the players (person or firm) who referred the matter to your firm. To add a new referral for the matter:

1. In the Referral section, click on the Add button.
2. In the Add Player window, select Yes or No for existing player. This is a required selection.
3. You can search for existing players from the Search Players drop-down. You can filter by All, Company and Employee.
4. Select No to add and create a new player.
5. Enter the details of the Company in the fields. Company Full Name is a required field.
6. Click Save.
7. The added referral is displayed on the screen. Click on the referral name link to view and update the External Person Profile.
8. Click on the icon, to delete an added referral.

The Competitors section will list all the competitors to the matter. To add a new competitor for the matter:

1. In the Competitor section, click on the Add button.
2. In the Add Player window, select Yes or No for existing player. This is a required selection.
3. You can search for existing players from the Search Players drop-down. You can filter by All, Company and Employee.
4. Select No to add and create a new player.
5. Enter the details of the Company in the fields. Company Full Name is a required field.
6. Click Save.
7. The added competitor is displayed on screen. Click on the competitor name link to view and update the External Person Profile.
8. Click on the icon to delete an added competitor.

Tip: Click on the icon on the far right of the page to access the Players and Parties and the Matter details tab.
